Pomlyy was created by ME :) An independent developer based in North America, who has been using the Pomodoro Technique for many years as a way to improve my focus throughout school, work, life, and helps me stay focused on the tasks at hand.
This project started as a simple tool for me and grew into something worth sharing: a lightweight, friendly focus timer that stays out of your way and helps you do meaningful work!
The Pomodoro Technique is a time‑management method that breaks work into short, focused sessions—typically 25 minutes—followed by brief breaks. Each session is called a “pomodoro.”
By working in short bursts with intentional rest, the technique helps reduce distractions, maintain energy, and make large tasks feel more manageable.
← Back to Pomlyy The Pomodoro Technique was developed in the late 1980s by Francesco Cirillo, who used a tomato‑shaped kitchen timer while studying. “Pomodoro” is the Italian word for tomato—and that little kitchen timer inspired a method that’s still helping people focus decades later.
Pomlyy is built and maintained independently. If you find Pomlyy helpful and would like to support small, independent projects, you can visit the Support page.
